Beata Mierzwa studies how human cells divide and shares the beauty of science through art and fashion. Her postdoctoral research at the Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research and UC San Diego aims to advance the world’s understanding of cell division and improve cancer therapy. Beyond her academic career, Beata creates science-themed drawings and clothes. Her illustrations portray scientific concepts in intuitive ways, while her science fashion celebrates the beauty of the molecular world. Making artwork for journal covers, conferences and even space mission patches, her unique approach to science communication aims to spark curiosity and fascination for science. She also created a science video game, Microscopya, that invites players to explore the beauty inside our cells. Ritu Raman, PhD is the d’Arbeloff Career Development Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering at MIT. Her lab is centered on engineering adaptive living materials for applications in medicine and machines. The Raman Lab’s current focus is building neuromuscular actuators to restore mobility and power robots. Prof. Raman has received several recognitions for scientific innovation, including being named a Kavli Fellow by the National Academy of Sciences and being named to the Forbes 30 Under 30 and MIT Technology Review 35 Innovators Under 35 lists. She is the author of the MIT Press book Biofabrication. She is passionate about increasing diversity in STEM and has championed many initiatives to empower women in science, including being named a AAAS IF/THEN ambassador and founding the Women in Innovation and STEM Database at MIT (WISDM). Prof. Raman received her BS from Cornell University and her PhD as an NSF Graduate Research Fellow at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Dr. Jalisha Jenifer is an Adjunct Assistant Professor and Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Barnard College. Her research investigates how students' emotions and beliefs about learning relate to their decision-making behavior and academic outcomes. She is particularly interested in how negative thoughts and anxiety impact decision-making in mathematics and how cognitive interventions can be utilized to improve math performance. Dr. Jenifer earned her Ph.D. in Psychology from the University of Chicago and her B.A. in Psychology from Princeton University.

Ruthe Farmer is a talent entrepreneur laser focused on inclusion and leveraging existing infrastructure to scale change. Diana Vicezar is an international student from Paraguay at Pitzer College and an incoming Product Design intern at Meta. She is the founder of Mapis, a career platform for international undergraduate and graduate students in the United States. She began her journey as a social entrepreneur at the age of 16, when she founded Mymba Rayhu (Animal Love), a youth-led initiative that raised awareness of the plight of stray dogs and the consequences of plastic pollution. During the last 5 years, Diana has worked on social projects with young entrepreneurs from more than 20 countries. When she is not working on projects, Diana spends her time helping other international students apply to American universities or internships and jobs. "My roots start in Mexico where I was born. My family moved to the US when I was about 7 years old. Growing up in the US was difficult at first due to the language barrier, but I worked hard and was a fluent English speaker within two years. My mom instilled a strong work ethic in me since childhood and always encouraged me to follow my passions. Space, Math, Astronomy, and Physics have interested me for as long as I can remember and I never lost sight of that growing up. My educational journey was not a straight shot. I graduated high school and enrolled in a Community College to study Electrical Engineering despite various setbacks. After three years I transferred to UCLA where I obtained my B.S. in Electrical Engineering. During my time at UCLA I got to be an intern at NASA JPL. Eventually, I transitioned to a full-time engineer and worked on 5 NASA missions including Perseverance and Europa Clipper. Currently, I am pursuing a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering at Johns Hopkins University. Throughout my journey in engineering school I was very aware about the lack of women in the field. This was very difficult for me because I did not have many people I could ask for advice regarding several topics such as the implicit biases we face on a daily basis. I’ve been given the opportunity to help guide those girls and women who, like me, are looking for someone with experience in what they are going through. Through honesty about the difficulties and encouragement I hope to be able to help women be better prepared for their experience as a woman in STEM."

Sue Harnett is changing the game for young women entering careers in computer science and engineering guided by principles of the game of basketball. The Staten Island, NY native found her first sense of belonging as a member of the girls' basketball team at her primary school. That commitment to contribute her best talent on the court led to life-long friendships, competitive opportunities for education, and ultimately the path to the change she makes today. Sue built and exited her first technology company, Replay Photos, in 2013. She found her next opportunity as a consultant to her alma mater, Duke University, where she learned that nationwide, women were exiting their computer science degree programs and giving up on the pursuit of their highest achievement because they lacked support. Her solution was to create a team for women in computing that was not limited by university borders or size. That’s how her current venture, Rewriting the Code was born. Caeley Looney is a total space geek, avid Netflix binger, and french fry lover. After graduating from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University with a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering, she started working full-time as a Space Mission Analyst at L3Harris Technologies, where she currently supports their small satellite programs. Once the work day is over, she comes home and works on Reinvented Inc. As the founder and CEO of this 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, Caeley works to empower young girls to pursue STEM fields through each of Reinvented’s three core programs. A.J. is most well known for her research on technologies for families and her expertise conducting field studies of technology. Sian Leah Beilock began her tenure as Barnard College president in July 2017 after spending 12 years at the University of Chicago, where she served on the faculty as the Stella M. Rowley Professor of Psychology, executive vice provost, and an officer of the university. Her work as a cognitive scientist revolves around performance anxiety and reveals simple psychological strategies that can be used to ensure success in everything from test-taking and public speaking to athletics and job interviews. Space and Satellite Professionals International (SSPI) – 2021 Promise Award Winner, Sydney Hamilton, has been featured on CBS’ Mission Unstoppable, in Marie Claire Magazine, on NPR’s Wow in the World, and across The Boeing Company for her innovative contributions to the aerospace industry. Sydney is one of the first African American’s to receive the SSPI Promise Award. Sydney is an IF/THEN Ambassador for the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) to inspire youth to pursue STEM fields. IF/THEN’s mission is to inspire young girls, especially of color, to be exposed to all of the amazing opportunities in STEM. If she can see it, then she can be it. Sydney is an Aerospace Structures Stress Manager at Boeing in Long Beach, CA. She provides leadership for a team of incredible structural analysis engineers who support multiple programs in satellites, commercial aircrafts, airplane repairs, and aircraft modifications. Prior to that, she was Mechanical Design Engineer leading a cross-functional team developing Satellite Reflectors that redirect radio frequencies (like your GPS!) to desired areas. Throughout Sydney’s career, she has had the opportunity to design 3D-printed satellite parts, deliver structural repairs to Boeing’s fleet of 767 and 777 airplanes, as well as analyze for the 777X Folding Wing-Tip – the first commercial airplane with mechanical folding wings! Her career journey has prepared her well for her leadership role. As a passionate advocate for recognizing the power within diversity, Sydney founded Boeing Generations 2 Generations SoCal employee resource group dedicated to improving workplace culture across the company’s rich, multi-generational talent pool. Sydney brings out her passion for STEM education through her partnership with the non-profit organization, Dramatic Results. Dana grew up in Norwalk, CA and earned a BS in Mechanical Engineering in 1993. She began her career in the space industry almost 27 years ago. In her first 13 years, she worked in regulatory compliance, first as a payload safety engineer and then, in environmental compliance. Another job she enjoyed was with a program that focuses on minimizing risks to human exploration of space. She managed risks and learned a lot about what we need to consider as we go further into space. Now, she works in science communications, managing the day-to-day operations of a website focused on getting science out to the widest possible audience. Dana learned that in almost any type of job, more and more people are realizing the importance of inclusion, diversity, equity, and accessibility. Bianca Jones Marlin, Ph.D. is a neuroscientist and Herbert and Florence Irving Assistant Professor of Cell Research at the Zuckerman Institute at Columbia University in New York City. Her research investigates how organisms unlock innate behaviors at appropriate times, and how learned information is passed to subsequent generations via transgenerational epigenetic inheritance. Dr. Marlin’s experimental approach combines neural imaging, behavior, and molecular genetics to uncover the mechanisms by which learning and emotion are biologically transmitted through generations— providing insight into how learned behavior in the parent can become innate behavior in the offspring. Prior to joining the faculty at Columbia, Dr. Marlin completed her postdoctoral work under the mentorship of Nobel Laureate, Dr. Richard Axel, and received her Ph.D. from New York University. Allison Fundis is the Chief Operating Officer for the Ocean Exploration Trust where she leads the development and management of the organization’s ocean exploration and outreach activities and teams. She pulls from diverse background in scientific, education, and extensive sea-going experience to engage the science community, students, and the public in telepresence-enabled expeditions aboard the Trust’s exploration vessel Nautilus. Since 2006, she has led or participated in 50+ expeditions utilizing a variety of deep-sea technologies and submersibles in the Eastern, North, and South Pacific Ocean, Gulf of Mexico, Gulf of California, Caribbean Sea, and the Mediterranean Sea. Before joining the Ocean Exploration Trust in 2013, Allison worked with the National Science Foundation’s Ocean Observatories Initiative at the University of Washington. In her role there, she participated in the planning and installation of the US’s largest cabled seafloor observatory in addition to developing resources and programs for students that utilize the observatory’s real-time data. Allison is a former high school chemistry and biology teacher and remains passionate about making authentic opportunities in STEM available to students, educators, and the public through the Ocean Exploration Trust. Allison holds a MS degree in Marine Geology from the University of Florida and a BA in Human Ecology from the College of the Atlantic. Her geological studies focused on understanding the controls on eruption dynamics in submarine volcanic systems. Zoia Kozakov is a product manager and a doer, motivated by solving complex problems that change the world and enable her to apply her multi-faceted skillset in the process. Her current role is Vice President, Product Manager on the Digital Payments team at JPMorgan Chase & Co., where she is leading and building a 0-to-1 cloud-based payments ecosystem, driven by innovation and guided by user experience. Previously, she was a Vice President, Product Manager at Citi, co-creating fintech consumer products alongside Google, as well as developing Banking-as-a-Service capabilities and API catalog. Dr. Erika Hamden is a professor of astrophysics at the University of Arizona, whose work is driven by a desire to know and understand more about the universe around us. She specializes in building telescopes and developing technology to make telescopes better, and her ultimate career goal is to see and measure “every atom that exists”. Erika graduated from Harvard College in 2006, earned a PhD from Columbia University in 2014, and spent 4 years as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the California Institute of Technology. Erika is a TED Fellow, a AAAS IF/Then Ambassador, and has won numerous awards from NASA for her work in ultraviolet astronomy. Sofia Ongele is a developer, student, digital organizer, and activist determined to make the world a more equitable place with the medium of her choice: code. Sofia’s most notable accomplishment is her award-winning mobile application ReDawn, an app to provide support to survivors of gender-based violence by connecting users to a sympathetic chat-bot, local resources, and an incident log. Outside of this app, she spent her last few summers teaching and interning at Kode With Klossy and creating web applications for social justice, whether it be to memorialize victims of school shootings, to show solidarity with Virginia educators, and to facilitate timely communication between representatives and their constituents on pressing issues.

Dr. Greetchen Díaz-Muñoz completed a Bachelor and Master Degrees in Biology, at the University of Puerto Rico, Mayagüez. Then, she earned her PhD in Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology at The Ohio State University.  After earning her PhD, Greetchen started as a postdoctoral researcher at the Nebraska Center for Virology, University of Nebraska at Lincoln, where she got a NIH T32 Postdoctoral Fellowship.   Dr. Díaz-Muñoz is currently the Director of the Science Education Program and Community Partnerships of Ciencia Puerto Rico (CienciaPR). For more than 10 years, Greetchen was a volunteer, part of the administrative team of CienciaPR. There, she participated in numerous projects in science communication, outreach, policy and education. Before joining CienciaPR’s staff in 2017, Dr. Díaz was the Grants Program Director at the Puerto Rico Science, Technology and Research Trust, and was responsible for the implementation of the first local grants mechanism for researchers in Puerto Rico. Before joining the Kode With Klossy team, she taught middle school ELA and served as an Assistant Principal of Instruction in Nashville, TN.

"I was introduced to coding through Girls Who Code. In the summer of 2017, I participated in their 7-week Summer Immersion Program.This experience motivated me to learn more about coding. After attending more workshops, I learned how fascinating coding really is. Not only can you make a website, but you can manage a robot, create your own VR world, and even make a video game. Not to brag, but I have done all of those already! Coding opens the doors to numerous opportunities. With technology expanding so much, more tech companies want to see real-life girls in the field next to them. My dream is to be signed to a modeling agency! And Coding has given me a hand with that and now am a freelance fashion model! One of my big accomplishments is doing a photo shoot with the company Apple! Moreover, Today I study computer science at Western Governors University, a school strictly online! I also, I work part-time teaching kids robotics and how to code. In my free time, I like to trade stocks, learn about cryptocurrency, and work on creative coding projects. I just turned 21, but keep in mind I started when I was 16! I went at my own pace of course. During quarantine in 2020, I took a year of school and felt the lowest in my life. Danni hosted the inaugural season of The Genius Generation podcast produced by Seeker and Trax which spotlights young people behind an incredible invention, entrepreneurial pursuit, or discovery using science. Washington also served as a correspondent on CBS's Mission Unstoppable, a weekly program highlighting fascinating female innovators thriving on the cutting edge of science, Xploration Nature Knows Best on FOX, a series predicated on ingenuity in biomimicry meant to expose younger generations to inventions inspired by nature. Additional projects include "Science the $#!* Out Of It," for the popular Facebook Watch vertical, Untamed Science for Pearson Publishing, and Ocean GEMS. Washington continues to educate youth on the importance of ocean conservation, STEM innovation and environmentalism using mediums that acutely connect: science, arts and media. Her simplification of what is at stake with our planet makes her a mainstay in conservation and STEM advocacy.

Karina Popovich is in her third year at Dyson concentrating in Strategy and pursuing a career in project management. During the pandemic she launched Makers for COVID-19, a collective of +350 3D-printer owners who produced and donated 82,000 units of PPE. Karina focuses her time on INERTIA, a marketing agency that designs unique and colorful experiences to inspire a curiosity and confidence for STEM. I want girls to know that they can be engineers or technical project managers in the fashion industry and any other creative industries that represent their identity.

Kimberly Bryant is the Founder and CEO of Black Girls CODE, a non-profit organization dedicated to “changing the face of technology” by introducing girls of color (ages 7-17) to the field of technology and computer science with a concentration on entrepreneurial concepts. Prior to starting Black Girls CODE, Kimberly enjoyed a twenty year engineering and technical leadership career in the pharmaceutical and biotech industries for various Fortune 50 companies such as Genentech, Merck, and Pfizer. Since 2011 Kimberly has helped Black Girls CODE grow from a local grassroots initiative serving only the Bay Area, to an international organization with fourteen chapters across the U.S. and in Johannesburg, South Africa. Black Girls CODE has currently reached over 18,000 students and continues to grow and thrive. Kimberly is a nationally recognized thought leader for her work to increase opportunities for women and girls in the technology industry and has received numerous awards for her work. Kimberly has been awarded the Jefferson Award for Community Service for her work to support communities in the Bay Area, named by Business Insider on its list of “The 25 Most Influential African-Americans in Technology,” and included in The Root 100 and the Ebony Power 100 lists in 2013. Kimberly has been named one of Fast Company’s Most Creative People. In 2015, the White House honored her as a Champion of Change for her work in tech inclusion, and she received an Ingenuity Award in Social Progress from the Smithsonian Institute among many other awards and recognition.
